Hi I draw things, and sometimes I draw lots of things that look like they're moving when you look at them one after another really fast. Also music!

So I spent a few minutes making this tool to help create basic color palettes fast:
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/2fd1ebc90a376bb8e43315d0014a4c8d
In order to use it you have to slide the obnoxiously tiny, almost entirely transparent arrow you'll find at the bottom of the bar to the right of the circle. Rotate the teardrop until it "points" to the main color you plan to use; all the colors inside the drop will be more or less fair game for you to use in the same image.
**You'll have to print screen or something if you want to save your palette.
Keep in mind that there's no science whatsoever here, and there will probably still be colors you'll find inside the teardrop that will look like shit. User discretion is advised.

Maybe I'll actually finish this one.

So I just put my storyboard panels together to get a sense of timing and such. Check it out!
I'm not calling it an animatic because there's a lot of stuff I have to fix and redo, plus there's no audio yet, but I'm actually pretty excited about how it's turning out. It's rare that I get to feel good about something I'm working on, so this is a big deal for me.
What do you guys think? Can you tell what's going on, at least?

Replacing the wall of text that was the previous post.
The showcase and anti-showcase screenings both went phenomenally well.
I'll be releasing my thesis animation online after a few months of sending it around to festivals.
I'm currently working on a short cartoon for @ChazDude

Come one, come all! The Digital Media & Animation Showcase is an event in upstate NY at which Alfred State College's DMA students show off the best work they've done all year! It's not just any work, either; this stuff is carefully selected by faculty, and only the best of the best is getting screened! If all goes well I'll be debuting my own animated short, which is really exciting.
There's no admission fee, either, so it's a free event! Come check out the work that'll be helping to shape the future of animation and interactive media. You'll be able to say you were among the first to see our work! Seriously, theres some wicked cool stuff going up this year and you have my word that you won't be disappointed.
The address is Alfred State College, 10 Upper College Drive, Alfred, NY 14802 and there are two major events: Games will be hosted in Llewellyn Gallery from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and the showcase screening will be in the Orvis Auditorium from 7:00 PM onward. It's all going down on Saturday, May 9th, so mark your calendar!
So, some of the student work that was done in time for the showcase didn't get approved for it because it was too "vulgar" or otherwise just plain shit. Some student work was pretty good but wasn't finished until just after the due date and got rejected.
I'm going to be screening all that work anyway. The Anti-Showcase is going to be a "non-selection" of all the work I can legally get my hands on, be it raunchy, politically incorrect, or badly done. I'm gonna screen it immediately after the official showcase and project the films onto the wall of the auditorium building as unsuspecting parents, friends, and loved ones are stepping out into the evening air.
My professors have no idea. This is going to be glorious.
While everyone's sitting snugly and watching the night's "main event," I'm going to be slapping this poster all over the lobby:

Trash80 - Missing You (Live Max/Jitter lcd visualizer)
So I made this thing in Max/Jitter and got to perform it on a huge projector in front of a few dozen people. It was pretty neat. I'm controlling it with a cardboard box hooked up to an Arduino setup.
It works by detecting sound through the laptop's built-in microphone and converting the sound data to an integer which drives most of its parameters. I could have built the song directly into the patch, but I wanted the visualizer to display the sound from the space I was in so it would read the echos and reverb and incorporate that into the show as well.
I made a long and detailed post on my blog about it, showing how I built and programmed the thing. Check it out!

So this isn't that other thing I've been working on, but I'm proud of it so far anyway and I'll probably go ahead and finish it when I can. At this point it's just an animatic (and not a very detailed one at that) without sound, but I've only been working on it for a week. My girlfriend came up with the story and character designs and drew the last few frames.

I got lots of music on the backburner right now, with a few projects waiting to be published.
What I'm excited about right now is the 3D animation I'm working on though. Here's a concept drawing for you guys:
Hopefully I can pull it off.
