Trash80 - Missing You (Live Max/Jitter lcd visualizer)
So I made this thing in Max/Jitter and got to perform it on a huge projector in front of a few dozen people. It was pretty neat. I'm controlling it with a cardboard box hooked up to an Arduino setup.
It works by detecting sound through the laptop's built-in microphone and converting the sound data to an integer which drives most of its parameters. I could have built the song directly into the patch, but I wanted the visualizer to display the sound from the space I was in so it would read the echos and reverb and incorporate that into the show as well.
I made a long and detailed post on my blog about it, showing how I built and programmed the thing. Check it out!

Dude, I just had to say. This was unbelievably beautiful, trippy and impressive. I don't think I would be able to handle making the visuals for a project like this, but you did a superb job. It was really freakin' cool. If you haven't already you should start gigging with this set up in the NY/NJ area I'm pretty positive that people would seriously dig this. Great work dude!

Whoa thanks man! Playing with it on a big screen was pretty boss, but I think if I took it on the road I'd have to put some more time into making more effects and permutations. Only having 4 to play with gets old fast.
Honestly though getting paid to play with this stuff live would be pretty damn sweet.
