Nice work with the coloring! The textures look great and I like most of your linework too, though the lines on the old man look a little weird because they're too light for the colors you used. You chose a great soundtrack, which is a big deal because that can make or break a piece. Having a good ear for what'll work is important!

I'm really impressed by how this turned out. Can't wait to see your next project!

snickity responds:

I can't wait to start the next project :D

This kind of happened to a friend of mine in the 4th grade. Another kid handed him a Ritz cracker and as he was holding it and talking about Power Rangers or whatever the hell 4th-graders talked about in 2001, a perfectly-aimed white streak of bird shit came plummeting down and splashed the cracker dead center. He didn't even notice and I had to knock it out of his hand before he put it in his mouth because the other kid was laughing too hard to do anything.
Anyway, I had to 5 this when I saw the cut up hotdog bleeding ketchup. You came up with some clever uses for materials, and it's refreshing to see some pixilation on here.
I wonder if you could have used a few more frames of yourself in the beginning, since the tweening there kinda made for a rough first impression. I also couldn't really see the connection between a gull dropping a deuce on your hotdog and the battalion of buns opening fire on an army of sea birds; you just kind of went super-saiyan and randomly cut to all that crazy shit. It might have been stronger if you'd connected that somehow. It was a little short, too. Some kind of climax or a hint to the audience about what would happen after what they saw would have been appreciated.
I still enjoyed this immensely though. Just one question: why'd you use a drawing of a hotdog stand guy instead of an actual picture of a hotdog stand guy? He seemed out of place but I figure you had a reason.

Pikapetey responds:

HEY DUDE!
The guy was my roommate at the time of making this. And the picture is of a free stock photo of a hotdog stand guy, but it was lit with studio lighting and therefor looks flat.

As far the war? I don't really know, I had a story of a bird dropping a deuce on a hotdog, but i didn't think it was a good enough joke. Fortunatly i happened to be with my WWII fanatic friend which gave me the idea that the hotdogs are at WAR with the gulls.

So the hotdogs (red and yellow colors) are at war with the ancient but more technically advanced gulls (purples and blues). From their i just kept trying to make it more and more crazy and intense.

I'd rather have my animations be too short and people screaming for more, than it to be too long and bore my audience.

Hey, what a pleasant surprise to log in to.

I like the concept; simple, unexpected, funny. The splat and vacuum were well-timed, but the walk cycles were rather lackluster. I'm really not a fan of those footstep sounds either, and the splat sound is too loud and clips pretty badly. The button beep, vacuum noise, and soundbed were passable though.

ChazDude responds:

I'd imagine it is hard to animate these guys walking.

Thx for reviewing c:

So much incredible work! This collab turned out amazing. When's the next one??

Lalo responds:

Year of the monkey!

That texture overlay doesn't work. The vertical lines are much too strong and affect the composition within the animation. The twist at the end didn't make a whole lot of sense either. If he was looking at a picture of them just before the train got there, how would he forget to bring them onboard?

You did employ a reasonable variety of different shots which seemed to work well enough together and weren't too difficult to follow.

I wish you'd put more time into the art.

The music wasn't always fitting. In the future, try selecting more than one soundtrack to cut between in order to keep the soundbed consistent with the mood you're trying to convey.

Bork20 responds:

Thanks SuperBastard! Thats some good advice.

Never stop making stuff. You're easily among my favorite animators around; nobody else does quite what you do. Serious respect.

spacefader responds:

Hey, no doubt, am working on a new animation right now.

Holy shit, Dayvan Cowboy. Was NOT expecting BOC. Neat.

Punisher responds:

You should have been.

nicely done

I love the style this is done in. It's very unique and colorful, and it really helps to tell the story. The music is interesting too. Overall I'd say you achieved what you were probably aiming for with this animation.

I enjoyed it, at least.

Gerkinman responds:

Enjoying it is what its all about in the end my friend.

Hmm

I'm not sure what's going on exactly, but I thought it was pretty funny for some reason, especially that extra button you put in the beginning.

inhstudios responds:

thanks
:D

I liked this!

You definitely accomplished what you wanted, and I thought it was totally hilarious. Great animation and decent art.

ClockworkPixel responds:

brilliant :D thanks

Hi I draw things, and sometimes I draw lots of things that look like they're moving when you look at them one after another really fast. Also music!
